ø determination
The azimuthal angle (ø) is angle between the center line of two
antennas and the transmitter. The great circle formula is used
to calculate the angle of the South Pole - Balloon - Transmitter (A on
the figure),
cos c = cos a cos b + sin a sin b
cos C,
sin a / sin A = sin b / sin B = sin c / sin C,
where a (and b) is given by the GPS latitude of the transmitter (the
balloon) and C is the longitude difference of transmitter and balloon.
Finally, the ø is obtained by ø = 180 - (A + orientation)
degrees, here the antenna orientation is measured by the house keeping
data.
